VETTING THE VERIFICATION
We have put together an informative presentation on vetting (authenticating) the Verification Report (based on the Canadian Standard CAN/ULC-S537-04) for new fire alarm installations and upgrades. It's specifically geared to assist local municipal building inspectors and fire departments to identify inconsistencies in a number of Verification Reports we've seen and to promote standardizing on a reporting format that complies with CAN/ULC-S537-04.
On March 3, 2009, Nick LeForte and the inspections staff at the City of Surrey's Electrical Inspections Branch provided the venue for the first of what we hope will be many such sessions. Our goal here is to spark an ongoing dialogue to help improve the quality of fire alarm installations and inspection practices in the various jurisdictions we all work in. To arrange for a presentation session in the Lower Mainland, please contact us! To receive a comprehensive presentation package (outside of the Lower Mainland, British Columbia), please call or contact us.
NEW LOGO UNVEILED!
The idea for Fire Protection Technicians Network - a one-stop resource for professionals in the fire prevention and life safety industry - has been growing for over three years. The quest for a symbol started when we went online in 2008. We needed something that embodied the spirit and commitment of the individuals that have chosen to pursue a career devoted to service in the LIFE SAFETY profession. We also needed something simple and easily recognizable.
The "fire triangle" is the heart of our logo. Its three sides represent the three guiding principals that forms what (in our view) should be the basic tenants of anyone employed in the service and supply of LIFE SAFETY equipment. They represent knowledge (through education & dialogue), vigilant inspection & maintenance practice, and professional integrity that together will ensure that we provide the highest standard of practice and care.
Help us in preserving and promoting these principals, while at the same time, enjoying the benefits of knowing you've taken a step up on the ladder of professional development and personal success!
Contact Us! We'll make sure it gets out there!
